If you notice that the gap is not even all the way around the lens, the problem should be easy to fix. I've tried everything so far and it is behaving better but I don't expect it to continue. Other variations include hitting a side of the camera against the palm of your hand. alright im not gonna lie, i dont have time to sift through all of these comments to see if anyone else mentioned this but,this is an awesome idea for a blog, check over here
A repair shop had estimated £50 just to open it up (no guarantee of fixing it) and it was all looking hopeless... I take very good care of my camera and I still ended up receiving the message. It was fine. Doesn't matter what maker. Lens was partially extended, would not go back into place, E18 error.
