The service was just above and beyond and for not much at all, the camera is working like new again.If you're going to have one repaired, I would highly recommend that Lens popped right out (instead of beeping and saying "lens error") and functioned as normal. After reading this website i tried the twist method and found it worked!!!!

I charged up the battery and turned it on just before putting it in my suitcase for a three day trip - all I got was some whirrs and bleeps and I tried to fix it using compressed air blown into the gaps between the lens barrels but that didn't seem to make any difference. oh my goodness...thank you so much for the poost! Then while it was still out I again blew compressed air all around and then the next time I powered it on it finished retracting then extended out perfectly.... I pushed hard on the side that was up with no change. As a last resort I tried your fix and VOILA!

One of the tips on there got mine working right away. YESSS now it works flawless. Someone held my Fuji F30 by the lens whilst it was retracting. We believe our four year old may have dropped the camera but we're not even sure.
