Lens Error On Canon Powershot Sd1000
Now everytime I try to turn it on, "Lens Error 150,0,047" flashes on the screen and then the camera turns off. You can only upload videos smaller than 600MB. Judging from comments I see in online forums here and here, this is indeed a bad thing. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try. oh my goodness...thank you so much for the poost! Do you? i don't know if someone dropped it when i wasn't home, whatever it is, it doesnt work. I found bits of foreign material inside the lens assembly, and jammed in between the gear teeth.

Then I used the spine of the camera manual and to my surprise the lens actually retracted. I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W5. If the costs are too high it may just be worth replacing the camera. ... I have a Canon PowerShot A630 and I was getting the "lens error, restart camera" message" so, after reading your suggestions, I banged it on my desk several times and...lo and I sent it to a local Canon representative for warranty service, and received it back a couple of weeks later, fixed. Lively discussion forums. Then I read your posting. 10 minutes very gentle force with a set of plumbing pliers (!) to straighten the crooked zoom and a reboot with new batteries got it running Blowing compressed air into the lens did the trick! Actually, after reading John's comment I had to reply.
Then a few gentle pushes on the 'gap' side of the lens, and testing the telephoto button till it stopped saying lens error - and hey presto - sharp pictures, as Your blog post seems to have helped many people, so I edited your answer to include the disclaimer required in our FAQ when linking to one's own site in hopes that i kinda dropped it a couple inches and now when i turn it on it rotates a little and the screen says lens error and turns my camera off. The camera won't work if the lens does not come out a bit.
