Lens goes out but not to full extent. Please also comment if none of the fixes were successful, or if you tried something different that worked. I have a GE A730 that was giving a Lens Error message after being in my pocket (probably accidently hit the powerbutton and the camera freaked when it tried to extend I have my favorite camera back up and operating again.

I then did a web search to see if I could share this good news and found this site.
