Lens Error 21

Then I turned it on again, when the error message popped up I held down the play button that looks like a triangle in a square and the Function set button It took a few gentle pushes and had to turn camwra on and off a few times and repeat gentle pushes and every time heard a couple of clicks. General jarring of the camera "General camera malfunction" One major contributor to E18 lens errors is the improper use of camera cases, or the carrying of cameras in pockets. Make them more durable Canon, way too many of us are having a lens error on cameras that we spent a lot of money on. I was able to repair my daughter's Sony DSC-W5by gently tapping on the USB plastic covering, while holding the camera upside down. Only consider this fix as an absolute last resort before tossing the camera, as there's some obvious potential for further damaging your camera by using this method.
But thought it won't hurt to try...Canon A510..powers on, shows the canon screen, lens stuck (almost all the way in except for maybe about 3/16 of an inch)then powers off. Other than that, you have no clue what you're talking about, lol. Wish that I could give you some easy tips for fixing the error by opening the camera, but I'm afraid there is none. Sometimes the lens won't even move. Nikon Coolpix L840 Lens Error I went as far to call Canon and they were useless, saying I must have dropped my camera or got sand in it, which neither of the two happened.Anyway, that other I never would have tried this!!!

Ok. I regret not doing this while on vacation because taking pictures was a real pain when the camera was busted.
