Keyboard Error Windows 8.1
None of these worked with the TOSHIBA SUPPORT DRIVER 10-17 PRESCRIBED FOR WINDOWS 8.1 loaded including after I had removed the password. Removed the battery from Asus R500A laptop and yesterday when I got back from holiday I reinstalled the battery and the keyboard was not working. All rights reserved. Tried plugging in a USB keyboard, which was recognised but only the power key registered a change on the laptop. I've seen others with similar problems talk about booting into safe mode, but I don't think I can do that without a working mouse and keyboard. I was about to change 100% for Linux , and don't use Microsoft anymore! 3 years ago Reply M Thank you so much! on system both ctrl keys are not working.

I don't even hit the porn sites… really!! At first start up after recovery my mouse pad worked until i got to my desktop and then only the right and left click work. i swapped the keyboards before and still it not fixed so for sure i knoe it was a system issue not a HW related issue. click I also update bios with ver A16.

Click mouse on Windows Key, Settings, Ease of Access, Keyboard, scroll down to Filter Keys and turn off "Ignore or slow down brief or repeated keystrokes and adjust keyboard repeat rates." http://support.toshiba.com/contact/ "I did not realize that there were official instructions from Toshiba on upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1.
The keys still light up but they no longer are working. However,deinstalling the Toshiba System Driver does not fix the issue, after a confirmed hard reboot.In the Toshiba Application Installer, the version of the Toshiba System Driver offered is 1.00.024. I am taking online college classes and thought I would probably fail or have to find $1,000 for new laptop, BUT after reading your instructions and following them exactly, my pc/keyboard http://jvmwriter.org/keyboard-error/keyboard-error-or-no-keyboard-present-press-f1-to-continue.html I was on the phone back and forth for 13 straight hours with geek squad and they never got close to figuring this fix out. Tried to use an USB keyboard with no luck, it is not working. You simply go in to the Control Panel, go to Regional settings and change the keyboard.
I am wondering what it is for !? I unticked the Sticky Keys as before, but nothing. Did a quick search, this was my top result, and boom, problem solved. Can't imagine that the issue comes from Ease of Access, but it was.
Using Windows 2012 Server Standard.
It's now working. I removed the password with hope that this would allow a more complete load of all plug and play software. Unit will turn on and load, but keyboard and touch pad don't work. Thank you so much! 2 years ago Reply Dawn Thank you!
I then turned to the internet and found your fix and was up right away. When I upgraded my system to Windows 8.1 I found everything to be perfect and was very happy. Or even just leaned on it whilst using it.
