Lenovo Z61t Fan Error

You should replace the whole assembly (fan and heatsink). It's possible that one of the slots is failing and because of that the laptop is failing. After that it worked great again. Incidentally, I couldnt get the back off and ended up rescrewing those I had taken out and aborting.

More likely, however, is that the fan is burned out and is not working any more. Then after 10 minutes (after shut) I am able to start it again. Has anyone taken apart a T42 that did NOT have the pink sheet?

It was not obvious what part was even going to come off as this section of the fan sits on top of a separate do-dad. i heard there where 2 temp. I don't know which, if either, of these things made a difference, but so far I have been running on AC power (through the powerstrip and the docking station) for about IML Tech April 4, 2009 | Vineet, I have to manually shut it off and when try to restart sometimes it does but sometimes it does not. In an effort to find all the required manuals, I have run into a really silly question. Is this normal for a dead fan (the bootup sequence stopping in mid stream)??
