Did you touch or remove the memory module by any chance? I think if you use a short heat sink instead of a long heat sink (which covers the video chip too), you might overheat and damage the video chip. Thank you so very much! Couple of restarts, and we're back in business.

If you replaced the old fan with a know good new one but still get the same error message, apparently there is a problem with the motherboard. This is connected to the mother board by some type of hardened glue or solder. I wouldn't think it possible for a big jump in temp to happen so suddenly. Tpfancontrol I'm thinking I might need to replace the whole heat sink and fan.

I followed your directions to get to the fan (short fan in this case) and it was a bit dirty but spun ok when I physically moved it.
